Ireneusz Druciarek

Welcome into Dojo of The Spirit of Sword. It is said the sword is like the mind. When the mind is calm, the sword can be wielded properly. My way is the way of the sword. The secret to sword training is a calm spirit. You have put your hand with a tranquil heart on the hilt of your sword. A serene spirit must be cultivated at all times. This is another art that is popular with adult also people and non-athletes, since the relatively slow movements are not as taxing to the cardiovascular system as are the more active arts (though it is still extremely challenging). This training builds arm and leg strength and provides a gentle cardiovascular workout. As stated above, it helps in the development of a calm, stable demeanour and, through attention to detail and continual refinement of the motions, orderly, precise thought patterns.

What I Do

Seitei Kata

Seitei Iai in 1969 ZNKR introduced 7 standard kata from the main sword schools. Three kata were added in 1981 and two more in 2000. The 12th kata is currently practiced.

Hachiman Kata

Hachiman Ryu is named after sailors from the third largest island of Kyushu in Japan. In the 13th century, the Hamamoto family founded the Hachiman Ryu School. The tradition of the sword fighting school has been passed down from father to son for 800 years and has survived to this day. This style is characterized by strong and realistic techniques which, due to its nature, do not belong to the elegant style.

Gunto Kata

Currently, I put great emphasis on training on Gunto sword with an integral part of Tameshigiri.

Tameshigiri

Tameshigiri started during the Edo period (from 1603 to 1868) during the reign of the Tokugawa family. Over the years, it has gained great popularity, moving from testing the blade to testing the cutting technique. In modern times, it is an important part of training in sword schools.
